return policy

We stand behind every area rug we sell. If, for any reason you are not 100% satisfied with your rug, return it within 30 days and we will exchange it or refund the purchase price, whichever you prefer.

Please note that unless the item is delivered defective there is a 15% restocking fee. Customers are responsible for return shipping. Of course, in the rare occurrence the rug was delivered damaged return shipping is free, there is no restocking fee, and your full purchase price will be refunded.

We do not accept returns past 30 days or on items that have been damaged or soiled by the customer.

Return Authorization Number (RA #)

To return an item you first need a Return Authorization Number (RA#). To receive your Return Authorization Number please call us at 1-800-240-9149 or submit a Return Request Form.

Items returned without a Return Authorization Number will be refused at the warehouse and sent back to the sender.

Before You Return an Area Rug please call us at 1-800-240-9149
before you ship any items back to us. We will give you specific instructions about how to return your items. Please note that customers are responsible for return shipping. International customers are responsible for return shipping cost including duty and custom. We highly recommend that you insure your return package with the carrier for the full price of the item to protect against loss or damage while in transit.

No returns will be accepted without a return authorization number. Returns that are received without a return authorization number may incur freight costs and a 20% service fee.

Please be sure to completely wrap your returns in the original packaging or equivalent and use tape to secure it.

Do not fold or apply tape to any surface of the item or rug.

Please note that we inspect the items upon arrival and items that have been soiled or damaged may be refused or cause you to incur additional fees.

Clearance, personalized, custom-made and sample items are not returnable unless there is damage or a defect. In this case we will gladly provide you a replacement. Rug pads/cushions that have been opened may not be returned for credit.

No returns will be accepted 30 days after the purchase.

RESTOCKING FEE


We do our best to help our customers avoid returns and being charged a restocking fee. For example, we instituted a sample rug policy to encourage customers to see a sample before purchasing the rug and to avoid a return. We also offer articles and phone support instructing customers how to measure for a new rug so they order the correct size. With proper planning we can avoid the hassle and inconvenience of returns.

Here are a few reasons why apply a restocking fee on some items:

1. First and foremost, we are charged a restocking by the manufacture fee when a non-damaged rug is returned to them. To avoid losing money we must charge the fee.
2. Shipping Area Rugs is very expensive. To cover costs for packaging, shipping, and handling.
3. To cover the cost of having inventory out of stock.

Carpe’t Diem is not responsible for any typographical errors.

Carpe’t Diem also reserves the right to cancel any customer order that is found to have a pricing error due to a web site programming bug or typographical error.

We reserve the right to adjust prices at any time.

All sizes are approximate.

Color may vary due to individual monitor settings. We cannot be responsible for monitor settings. We encourage all customers to see these products in person whenever possible.
