Selecting the correct area rug size is as important as choosing its pattern and color. Small or large, the perfect sized rug can pull a room together and add interest to the space. Finding the correct size starts with measuring the room. Next, you should measure the actual space you want the area rug to fill. Visit our area rug size guide for more measuring tips.

Here are a few area rug size tips for specific rooms. The size of an area rug for a Dining Room should be three to four feet larger in length and width to the dining table. Great rooms and mansion size rooms may requite a 10 x 13, 10 x 14, 12 x 15 or even a 12 x 16 or larger area rug.
